Valisure released a list of products containing benzene, and was shocked to see so many brands I have used in the past. Two brands that stood out to me were Neutrogena and Sun Bum. I used Sun Bum regularly because they advertise themselves as a brand that cares about the reef, but benzene has harmful effects on the environment.

Supergoop is my all time favorite non toxic sunscreen brand. I have been using their products for a few years now and they are one of the only brands that is able to create sunscreen that doesn’t have that signature smell.

My aunt left this lightweight tinted sunscreen by Elta MD at my house and I fell in love. The tint is just enough to work as a light foundation and it really evens out my skin tone. I am in the sun a lot so I like to use this every day. I have layered it under my makeup before, but with the tint I skip make up most days in the summer time.

This is my all time favorite body sunscreen If I am going to be spending a lot of time in the water. This is perfect for beach days and has a hint of shimmer to give your skin a nice glow. It aluminum free and reef safe.
This benzene free sunscreen is under $10 and available at most major retailers including Target. It goes on so easily and just feels like a regular body lotion.
